New Products: Gentler, safer alternative to chemical-based douches for vaginal odor

Article

The FDA has approved a douching device that gently cleanses.

Results of a double-blind placebo-controlled study of women complaining of vaginal odor (but not due to infection or other medical causes), showed that participants who were randomized to WaterWorks experienced a significant reduction (P<.05) and/or elimination of vaginal odor compared to those using placebo. As always, advise patients to see you first to rule out common/treatable odor-causing vaginal infections. For more information or to purchase, call (800)-231-4928 or go to http://www.waterworkshealth.com/ . The product is not available in stores.
