Will OCs have your patients singing like a diva?
Maybe not, but birth control pills do seem to improve voice quality, contrary to popular thinking. The finding comes from a longitudinal comparative study of 14 healthy young women followed for a period of 36 to 45 days. Using various acoustic measures, the authors of the study compared the voices of seven women using OCs to the voices of seven not using birth control pills.
