The U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v Wade on Friday triggered a domino effect of antiabortion legislation across the country. While some states had automatic trigger bans in place, others required state action for the ban to take effect.

Below is a snapshot of the current status of abortion restrictions: banned or mostly banned, heavily restricted, and protected.
