The AHN Center for Reproductive Medicine is a newly opened world-class facility with a team of experts focused on patient experience and successful outcomes.

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Center for Reproductive Medicine offers comprehensive services to help heterosexual couples, same-sex couples, and single-intending parents achieve their family building goals. Located at the AHN North Fayette Health + Wellness Pavilion, the center provides a patient-centered environment designed to support those navigating the complex journey of infertility.

“It’s a pleasure to offer patients reproductive care in our state-of-the-art facility that’s comfortable and welcoming,” said Lori Homa, MD, AHN OB-GYN and fertility specialist. “We collaborate closely with our patients from initial consultation through prescribed care journey, which could include ovulation-stimulating medications, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination, and sperm testing, among other infertility therapies.”

Dr. Homa works closely with OB-GYN colleagues and primary care physicians, so they can easily connect about patients who may need reproductive medicine.

“If a patient is considering infertility care, or hormonal replacements, or anything, don’t wait. Reach out early,” Dr. Homa said. “We are committed to helping these patients, and we’re open to everyone.”

Extensive options for a challenging journey

The AHN Center for Reproductive Medicine provides fertility testing and treatment plans, as well as fertility preservation services. The center has a team of experienced fertility specialists who have completed three years of specialized training in a fertility-focused fellowship, in addition to standard OB-GYN training.

“Our caring and experienced reproductive health specialists understand the struggles our patients face when building a family,” said AHN OB-GYN and fertility specialist Terrence Lewis, MD, PhD. “We work with each patient to develop a personalized plan with the best chance for success.”

The center’s fertility services include:

  • Freezing of eggs, sperm, and embryos (cryopreservation).
  • Use of embryo and sperm donations from donation agencies.
  • Ovulation-stimulating medications.
  • Hormone treatment.
  • Assisted reproductive technology (ART), including intrauterine insemination (IUI), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
  • Semen analysis.
  • Minimally invasive surgical treatment for various reproductive problems.

Physicians at the center also treat and diagnose patients for some health conditions that can impact their ability to get or stay pregnant. Those include:

  1. Endometriosis.
  2. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
  3. Pituitary disorders.
  4. Congenital (present from birth) anomalies of the reproductive tract.
  5. Uterine abnormalities like polyps or fibroids.
  6. Disorders of sexual development.

Convenient access at one location

The AHN Center for Reproductive Medicine’s clinical offices and surgery facility are located all at the North Fayette Health + Wellness Pavilion. Recognizing the unique emotional and physical needs of individuals undergoing infertility treatments, the center features a separate, dedicated entrance for these patients. Inside, they’re greeted with private, spacious waiting areas and exam rooms, creating a calming and supportive environment distinct from other patient areas.

“Our teams collaborated extensively to make this a patient-centered facility that takes into account the complex health journey of these patients, physically and emotionally,” said AHN OB-GYN and fertility specialist Justin Pilgrim, DO. “People dealing with fertility issues are welcomed into our facility in an appropriate, calming way with their own entrance and separate facilities, where they’re surrounded by other patients who are on similar care paths.”
