The sole mission of a new rock band, NED (no evidence of disease), is to enhance knowledge of gynecologic cancers, bring hope to women undergoing treatment, and raise awareness and money for the fight against women's reproductive cancer. The group, which comprises six musically talented, full-time practicing gynecologic cancer surgeons from across the country, will perform in Washington, DC in November, as part of the Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Movement Weekend. The group has created a CD with original songs in styles ranging from indie rock to folk-rock. Lyrics address issues faced by women with cancer and their families.
